AMBASSADOR GIULIO TERZI DI SANT’AGATA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA

Terzi2Washington, DC – Italy’s new Ambassador to the United States presented his credentials to President Barack Obama.

“President Obama spoke of his friendship and respect for Italy, with special mention of the great warmth marking his recent meeting in Rome with President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano,” said Ambassador Terzi at the close of the ceremony at the White House.

“President Obama,” he went on to say, “expressed great satisfaction and appreciation for the collaboration between our two countries, particularly in Afghanistan, but also for Italy’s leadership of the G8 and the common commitment in areas such as the environment, the food crisis, and non proliferation.”

This morning, the Prime Minister’s office, released a letter in which President Obama congratulates Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi for the work in peace operations.
